The first tourist train running from Guiyang in Southwest China’s Guizhou province to Vientiane in Laos will set off on its debut journey on May 8.
During the just-concluded Qingming Festival holiday, three Guiyang railway stations – Guiyangbei Railway Station, Guiyangdong Railway Station and Guiyang Railway Station – transported 683,000 passengers on April 3-7, an increase of 4 percent compared to 2019 statistics.
In 2023, Guiyang Customs strengthened inter-provincial cooperation with Guangzhou Customs by taking the lead in exploring and implementing the "inland to port" collaborative customs clearance model, allowing imports and exports of Guizhou-made products to clear customs more efficiently.
Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province, is not just a key transit hub for tourists traveling to Southwest China, but it is also transforming itself into a popular tourist destination in its own right.
Guiyang is set to establish 10 pocket parks across the city this year, aiming to enhance its urban landscape and provide its residents with ideal spots for leisure and exercise.
