Officials announced at a news conference in Xifeng county on June 24 that more than 10,000 hotel rooms will be provided for visitors and over 3,000 beds have been booked, highlighting strong demand for Xifeng's summer tourism.

Xifeng has several advantages as a summer getaway. First, its average summer temperature is around 23 C, while nearly 60 percent forest coverage keeps the area cool and provides fresh mountain air.

Second, it is home to Xifeng Hot Spring, one of the world’s three major radon hot springs, which is rich in beneficial trace elements.

Third, it boasts a convenient transport network, with downtown Guiyang just 20 minutes away by high-speed rail, Zunyi and Anshun 30 minutes to one hour away, Chongqing 1.5 to 2 hours away, and Chengdu about 2 hours away. It also enjoys convenient connections to major economic zones such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta.

To meet diverse tourism demands, Xifeng continues to enrich its accommodation and travel offerings. Tailored wellness packages of seven, 15, and 30 days are offered for senior travelers. The county has developed immersive educational tourism programs, with the stage drama "Xifeng Red Memory" performed more than 80 times this year, attracting over 100,000 visitors. Outdoor experiences such as mountain trekking, forest hiking, and stargazing camping are also available for younger travelers and adventure enthusiasts.

The 2026 summer tourism season in Xifeng runs from June to September, featuring over 100 activities, including red culture experiences, public cultural performances, sports events, rural harvest activities, consumer promotion programs, and scenic-area stays.
