At the Yalongsi Town Nursing Home in Xifeng county, 84 elderly residents with special needs are enjoying a safe and comfortable life with professional care.
"I live very well here. We often gather to chat, and I feel very happy," said 70-year-old Cao Yongming, who has lived in the home for more than eight years. His tidy room features a desk neatly arranged with books on folklore and health. Leafing through one, he enthusiastically shared stories of cultural wisdom.
Jiang Shimin, head of nursing at the nursing home, explained that the institution employs 10 operational staff members and 18 caregivers, offering standardized services for residents with varying levels of independence.

Residents' rooms are cleaned daily, laundry is done regularly, and individualized care – from rehabilitation therapists teaching the use of assistive devices to caregivers assisting fully dependent seniors with bathing – is provided.
Meals are carefully planned with a rotating weekly menu – eggs and milk are standard at breakfast, while special dietary needs are also met with personalized options.
Beyond physical care, the home places equal emphasis on residents' emotional well-being. Books, television, and friendly conversations are a part of daily life, while three cultural and recreational activities are organized each week to enrich residents' lives.
