Xifeng county enhances rural logistics for greater convenience

Residents in Guiyang's Xifeng county are experiencing new levels of convenience thanks to the rapid expansion of integrated rural logistics services. At the village-level logistics hub in the county's Yangzhai village, villager Lei Hong receives his parcel: "I used to travel to the town center for online orders, now deliveries arrive right at my doorstep".

This shift reflects Xifeng's efforts to streamline rural delivery through a three-tier logistics network comprising county, town, and village, which integrates passenger and freight transport. Covering 64 villages so far, the system enables residents to receive parcels locally at no extra cost, saving time and effort while boosting local accessibility to markets and essential goods.

At the county-level logistics sorting center in Shihuaping, intelligent systems now process over 50,000 parcels daily. Within two hours, packages are sorted and dispatched to 35 villages. Partnering with major courier services like ZTO Express and Yunda Express, the center applies a "shared warehouse, joint delivery" model to achieve the same-day service for both incoming and outgoing packages.

To expand this reach, a new sorting center is being built at the county bus terminal, aiming to serve all 161 villages with automated equipment and standardized transport tools. Complementing this, 30 customized cargo-passenger vehicles have been deployed across multiple towns to deliver goods along a regular bus route.

By repurposing local shops and public facilities into logistics service stations, Xifeng plans to expand coverage to all administrative villages by August. Some larger villages will also receive smart lockers to enable 24/7 pickup. Currently, the system handles 35,000 inbound and 15,000 outbound parcels daily, making rural life more connected and convenient.
