Xifeng's Xiaobao village: Eco-fisheries and smart farming advance rural vitalization

Xiaobao village, located at the foot of Xishan Mountain in Xifeng county, has become a model of rural vitalization. With rich natural resources and proximity to the county seat, the village has developed specialty agriculture and smart eco-fisheries.

Guizhou Shuizhiyuan New Agricultural Science and Technology Development Co's ecological fishery breeding base, launched in 2020, now uses intelligent monitoring systems to produce 500 metric tons of fish annually. This has boosted yields by 25 percent and generated over 12 million yuan ($1.67 million) in annual sales, benefiting more than 70 local households and bringing stable returns to the village collective.

Infrastructure and public services have been upgraded, as community governance continues to improve. The village has also earned several honors, including being named a "Guizhou Provincial Civilized Village".

"We're working toward a stronger economy, better living environment, and more effective governance," said Wu Xuekai, Party secretary of the village.
