The Guizhou Ethnic Unity Grand Parade made its long-awaited return on May 18, bringing together 26 vibrant performing groups in a celebration of cultural diversity and national unity.

Among the standout acts was the "Xiuxin Study Tour", jointly presented by Xiuwen and Xifeng counties, captivating the audience with a moving performance rich in red culture.

At the performance site, actors from Xifeng re-enacted a poignant scene of martyr Zhang Luping and the young revolutionary Luobotou reciting the poem Pomegranate Blossoms in July. "Zhang Luping's story in the Xifeng Concentration Camp showcases the unwavering revolutionary spirit and sacrifice of our heroes," said Kou Wei, the team leader.

Their piece, Ode to Loyalty: When Pomegranate Blossoms Shine Bright, drew inspiration from Zhang's final verses. The performance imagined the martyrs witnessing today's era of harmony and unity, resonating deeply with the audience.

Zhu Jiahua, performing as a backdrop pomegranate blossom, said, "Representing Xifeng on this stage is an honor. The cheers from the crowd made all our hard work worth it." Li Chengjun, who played young Luobotou, emphasized the importance of instilling patriotism, courage, and unity in younger generations.

"The performance from Xifeng was incredibly immersive," said audience member Zhang Qian. "It was a vivid tribute to our revolutionary heroes and a touching celebration of Guizhou's enduring spirit of unity."
