Xifeng county has tapped into its rich red resources to develop the cultural tourism industry, upgrading historical venues and vitalizing revolutionary landmarks. In the first quarter of 2025, Xifeng welcomed 275,700 red tourism visitors and hosted over 200 red-themed educational groups.
The Xifeng Concentration Camp Revolutionary History Memorial Hall was renovated in April last year and reopened to the public at the end of January this year. The upgraded exhibition halls feature innovative multimedia applications, scene recreations, and sound-and-light interactive technologies.

The first hall uses miniature landscapes to recreate scenes of interrogation, and the second hall combines portraits and sound effects to vividly portray martyr Zhang Luping's defiant cries before her execution.
According to Huang Qin, deputy curator of the memorial hall, post-renovation visitor engagement has increased by 40 percent, and youth group visits have risen by 65 percent year-on-year.
Xifeng Tourism Development Co has created 10 specialized red-themed courses by integrating the memorial hall's resources. Huang Wanqiao, the company's general manager, noted that in recent years, the company has continued to develop and refine its red-themed cultural courses.
By blending study tours with outdoor activities and cultural innovation, they have also pioneered a range of programs such as Agricultural Culture Study, Traditional Chinese Culture Study, National Defense Education, and Nature Education Study.
Since the beginning of 2024, the red-themed cultural courses have served 59 groups, totaling 32,000 participants.
