In recent years, Xifeng county in Guiyang has used its ecological advantages to develop eco-friendly fisheries and actively explored the "fisheries+" development model, steadily advancing the industrialization, scaling-up, and standardization of ecological aquaculture.

The county is home to 21 registered fishery or fishery-related business entities and over 200 aquaculture households, with a total aquaculture area exceeding 3,000 mu (200 hectares).

As spring arrives, bass farming enters a critical period. At the ecological fish farming base of Xifeng Jiangshengyuan Ecological Agriculture Co in the county's Luwuo town, feed is scientifically prepared and adjusted daily according to growth stages and environmental conditions to ensure proper feeding.

Established in 2019, the company adopted an eco-friendly farming approach of "purifying water with fish and raising fish with clean water". Covering more than 70 mu, the base produces high-quality ecological bass.

Since production began, it has supplied over 300 metric tons of commercial fish annually, generating an annual output value of more than 7 million yuan ($959,700). Its products are sold within Guizhou, including Zunyi and Bijie, and to Chengdu, Chongqing, and other regions.

Hu Yixu, the company's general manager, said: "Our base follows a development model of 'enterprise + university/research institute + village collective + farmers', continuously promoting the industrialization, scaling-up, and standardization of ecological aquaculture. This year, the second phase of our project will be completed. By then, the base will expand to 120 mu, with the annual output value expected to reach over 12 million yuan."
