The Liangchahe Reservoir Project in Xifeng county is located downstream of the confluence of the Xifeng River and its tributary the Xiaoluwo River. It has a total investment of 683 million yuan ($94.11 million) and a designed storage capacity of 20.25 million cubic meters, enough to meet the growing industrial water demand in Xifeng. Construction on the project is 50.5 percent complete.
According to Xiao Yong, deputy project manager of Guizhou Water Conservancy Industry Co, work on the project resumed on Feb 5, with all personnel having returned to the site. The dam of Liangchahe Reservoir has been filled to a depth of 865.5 meters, with 90,000 cu m of concrete poured into the dam body, accounting for 47 percent of the total.

Xiao stated that in order to ensure the progress and quality of the project, the company has formulated a detailed construction plan, coordinated and dispatched resources from all parties, and made every effort to promote the construction of the project.
To ensure safety, the company provides comprehensive safety training to construction personnel. At the same time, the water management bureaus of Guiyang and Xifeng coordinated and solved problems such as land delivery for water pipelines and handled procedures related to cross oil and gas pipelines.

The Liangchahe Reservoir Project is a major water conservancy project intended to improve people's livelihoods. It will provide 22.45 million cu m of water annually, mainly serving the phosphorus coal chemical ecological industrial base in Xifeng and providing a solid water supply guarantee for the high-quality development of the region.
