Xifeng tourism booms during Spring Festival

The tourism market in Xifeng county continues to boom during the Spring Festival holiday. From Jan 28 to Feb 1, Xifeng received more than 227,100 visits, generating 132 million yuan ($18.19 million) in tourism revenue, year-on-year increases of 5.01 percent and 4.4 percent, respectively.

At the Xifeng Concentration Camp Revolutionary History Memorial Hall, a national demonstration base for patriotic education, tourists left messages on the message board, honoring the martyrs and expressing their love for life, blessings for the country, and hopes for the new year.

"During the Spring Festival holiday, we have put on an educational performance at 11 am on Feb 1 to Feb 4," said Huang Qin, the hall's deputy director. He said that the "Endless Flames" exhibition renovation project and the movable cultural relic digital protection project, which cost more than 20 million yuan to complete, have been unveiled, enriching the high-tech exhibition, artificial intelligence (AI) interaction and other contents of the memorial hall and providing a more convenient and comfortable tourism experience.

Many tourists came to Nanshan Tianmu Hot Spring to celebrate Spring Festival, and the number of tourists increased by more than 50 percent year-on-year. Ma Jun, the marketing manager of Nanshan Tianmu Hot Spring, said that the spring has launched music festival activities such as dragon and lion dance performances and folk custom collections, offering tourists a unique hot spring experience.

During the Spring Festival holiday, the county bureau of culture, sports, radio, television and tourism strengthened safety inspections, improved service quality in scenic areas, carried out tourism security work and dealt with tourist complaints in a timely manner to protect the rights of tourists and provide a good travel experience.
