Over the years, Qingshan Miao ethnic township in Xifeng county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been working to improve the local environment and enhance the lives of residents, with efforts made to renovate rural houses.

Zhang Tiancai, a local villager, stated that the exterior walls of the old houses were severely deteriorated, and the architectural styles were inconsistent. The government's implementation of the livable rural housing renovation project helped them improve the exterior walls and build flower beds, pavilions, and other amenities.

As a result, the village is more beautiful than ever and as picturesque as a painting, with many tourists praising the pleasant environment.

Additionally, the village's idle lands were turned into shared vegetable and fruit gardens, promoting the summer stay industry.

The continuous improvement of the living environment and the further utilization of idle farmhouses have attracted a large number of tourists from within and outside the province for summer stays. Currently, 16 farmhouses have been transformed to develop the summer stay industry, offering a total of 116 rooms capable of accommodating over 230 tourists. So far, 131 tourists have already checked in, and more than 50 reservations have been made, achieving an occupancy rate of 58.6 percent.
