As the summer heat is sweeping across the country, Guiyang once again has become a sought after destination due to its cool weather, especially Qingshan Miao ethnic township in the city's Xifeng county.

In recent years, the township has made strong efforts to develop summer tourism, boost its popularity, and improve local infrastructure to make travel more pleasant, which has given it a good reputation.

In the township's Qingshan village, a villager renovated her idle house in February this year and started sharing her daily life on a short video platform to attract tourists for short stays. Her courtyard can accommodate more than 30 tourists at a time and has already hosted over 1,000 visitors. Her initiative has also inspired six other households to get involved in the short stay business.

Luo Guifen, a 65-year-old tourist from Guangdong province, learned about the courtyard through short videos and contacted the host to make immediate travel plans. Now she is thoroughly enjoying the leisurely rural life.

"The air here is good. We eat and work together with the host family. We can raise chickens, climb mountains, go to markets, and work in the fields. I plan to stay for a few months and go back when it gets cold," said Luo.

By fully tapping into the village's strengths in ecological conservation and leisure experience, continuously improving the living environment and renovating livable farmhouses, Qingshan village has promoted new developments in the rural homestay industry, increasing farmers' incomes.
