Xifeng county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, carried out a fish fry distribution activity for its rice-fish integrated farming project on July 5, with 3,400 kilograms of carp fry released into 500 mu (33.33 hectares) of rice fields in Zhifang village, Qianben village and Anma village.

In recent years, Xifeng county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has adopted a "cooperative + farmer" model, implementing a so-called "free provision of fish fry and technical guidance services + self-breeding and self-selling by farmers" approach to develop the rice field comprehensive farming project, expanding avenues for farmers to increase their incomes.

At the same time, the project promotes the formation of a "rice-fish" composite farmland ecosystem, effectively reducing rice field environmental pollution. It is expected that this year, 16,500 kilograms of aquatic products will be harvested, achieving an output value of approximately 660,000 yuan ($90,816).

Before distributing the fish fry, the county organized eight technical training sessions and offered on-site guidance to teach farmers the skills required for rice-fish integrated farming. Efforts will be made to further construct base projects, vigorously promote high-yield precise rice cultivation technology and green prevention and control technology, and boost unit yield in rice-fish integrated farming.
