Xifeng: Rural roads pave way to happiness

In recent years, Xifeng county in Guiyang city has been extending its rural road network, increasing construction investments, and improving maintenance mechanisms to support the county's high-quality economic and social development.

Xifeng currently manages over 2,194 kilometers of roads, including 189.44 km of provincial roads, 366.15 km of county roads, and 726.52 km of village roads.

The county was recognized as a provincial-level "Four Good Rural Roads" model county in 2017 and achieved national-level status in 2022.

It has deeply integrated the operation of rural roads with key initiatives such as promoting rural economic and social development, consolidating and expanding poverty alleviation achievements and advancing the rural vitalization strategy, thereby taking full advantage of rural roads.

All 11 townships and sub-districts in the county now have passenger transport stations, while all 161 villages have pick-up stations. The county has opened 18 rural passenger transport routes with 73 vehicles, covering all villages.

"The environment is more beautiful, the roads are wider, and every village has access to rural passenger buses. It's so easy to get around now," said Ou Quangui, a resident of the county's Pingshang village.
