Kiwi cultivation training held in Xifeng

Shidong town in Xifeng county recently held a training session on efficient kiwi cultivation and management techniques. It aims to enhance the scientific, standardized, and precise management of fruit trees and boost the productivity and income of the specialty fruit industry,

Jiang Chunyu, a senior experimental instructor from Guizhou University, conducted the training, covering theory and practical experience.

During the theory portion of the training, Jiang discussed topics such as kiwi growth environment, varietal characteristics, and optimal planting seasons. He also detailed key kiwi cultivation techniques, including planting methods, irrigation management, pest and disease control, and pruning and shaping.

In the hands-on session, the expert provided step-by-step guidance on kiwi pruning techniques and promptly corrected any improper practices. He also addressed various issues that growers encounter in their production practices, offering clear and practical solutions.

The growers expressed that the expert's explanations broadened their perspectives, strengthened their awareness of kiwi management, and reinforced their commitment to developing the kiwi industry.

This targeted and practical training enhanced the farmers' knowledge and skills, providing technical support for the sustainable development of the kiwi industry. Shidong town has now conducted six training sessions for rural practical talents, with over 350 participants.
