Guizhou Phosphate Chemical New Energy Technology Co's base in Xifeng county, Guiyang City, is currently a hive of activity.
That's as the key project, with a total investment of over 2.5 billion yuan ($343 million), is rapidly progressing with the aim of being completed within the year.
When it ramps up full output it will produce 60,000 metric tons of iron phosphate, 100,000 tons of iron lithium phosphate – with an initial phase of 50,000 tons – and 10,000 tons of recycled batteries per annum.
Guizhou is the province with the highest phosphorus deposits in China, with the phosphorus chemicals sector serving as a pillar industry.
Currently, the region is focusing on creating a nationally significant deep-processing base for its resources.
It's taking phosphorus-based new energy materials as a critical jumping-off point, to explore a new path for the refined and high-end development of the phosphorus chemicals industry.
In the first half of this year, Guizhou Phosphate Chemical New Energy Technology Co's market share for wet-process purified phosphoric acid was 64 percent of the domestic market – with a 54-percent share in the new energy field and nearly 90 percent in the Guizhou market.
The group is rapidly building a new energy materials industrial supply chain, providing enterprises with opportunities to expand into new markets.
