Zhai Bing, the person in charge of Guizhou Shuizhiyuan New Agricultural Technology Co, said that in Xiaobao village, the company's base has 36 flowing pools, 26 high ponds and 13 roadbed steel silos, covering an area of 30 mu (2 hectares). It mainly breeds sturgeon and salmon, with an annual output of about 500 metric tons, valued at about 12 million yuan ($1.64 million).
"We plan to export our fish to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and other countries," Zhai added.
The county is currently home to 21 registered fisheries or fishery-related business entities involving more than 200 fish farmers, with an output of more than 1,900 tons valued at more than 57 million yuan in 2022.
