Xifeng sees bumper harvest in fields and ponds

This year, Xishan town in Xifeng county achieved record-high yields in its ecological fisheries as well as rice and corn fields, injecting strong vitality into rural vitalization.

As a production base for "high-quality rice" in Xifeng, Xishan town's Luwo village boasts fertile soil and abundant water resources, providing unique advantages for rice and rapeseed cultivation. That's why the village has implemented a rice-rapeseed rotation system.

Luwo village established a mixed ownership company to develop grain and oil processing. Additionally, the village leveraged sports events like the Xiwang Mountain Cross-Country Race and paragliding competitions to drive the development of local agricultural industries.

This year, Xishan town is expected to produce a total of 2.46 million kilograms of rice. Since the beginning of autumn, the town has combined manual labor with machinery to ensure a successful autumn grain harvest.

Meanwhile, Xiaobao village, another village in the town, has actively developed ecological fisheries by fully utilizing its resources and guiding fish farmers toward a path of large-scale, industrialized aquaculture.

To date, the fishery aquaculture area in Xishan town totals 148 mu (9.87 hectares), and the village plans to further enhance the industrialization, standardization, and branding of the town's ecological fishery.
