Various kinds of fruits have started to ripen since the start of autumn. An observation meeting for the 2023 fruit quality and efficiency improvement project in Guiyang City and Guian New Area was recently held in Liuchang town, Xifeng county.

The event was aimed at promoting different fruit varieties and the exchange of fruit production technology, and accelerating the improvement of fruit quality and efficiency in Guiyang and Guian.

Changyong village, Liuchang town has cultivated more than 270 mu (18 hectares) of grapes. To improve quality and efficiency, experts have been providing continuous guidance on cultivation techniques.

Through measures such as increased use of organic fertilizers, standardized pruning and trimming, and fruit bagging, the grape yield has reached 500 metric tons, with an expected output value exceeding 6 million yuan ($824,400).

During the meeting, leaders from municipal-level departments, responsible officials from various districts and counties' agricultural and rural affairs bureaus, and representatives from farming enterprises, visited the grape cultivation demonstration base. Large-scale grape growers shared their cultivation techniques and experiences, leading to in-depth discussions and exchanges.

In addition, 20 evaluators conducted a grape tasting session for 20 representatives from grape cultivation entities in Changyong village. They assessed the grapes based on fruit quality and flavor, cast their votes, and selected first, second, and third-place winners, followed by an award ceremony to encourage ongoing improvement in cultivation practices.
