Relying on its natural scenery, Luwo village in Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has organized a cross-country race around Xiwang Mountain, attracting not only tourists and athletes, but also 10 rural talents.
"We will mobilize more such talents to return to their hometown, these talents will invigorate the village," said Yang Mofu, Party secretary of the village.
The kiwi fruit industry in Zhongba village began to thrive since Shu Hong, a rural talent, developed the industry through the "company + cooperative + rural household" model. Since 2020, locals who are involved in the industry have received more than 900,000 yuan ($131,040) in bonuses.
Talents are key to rural vitalization, and for this reason, Xifeng county has launched a large-scale campaign calling for the return of rural talents by establishing county-level and town-level rural talent committees. Now, 61 such talents have been successfully guided to work or start businesses in the county. Special loans totaling 11.09 million yuan have already been issued to rural talents who have returned.
