The fifth Xiwang Mountain trail running race concluded in Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on March 19.
To ensure that the event went smoothly, relevant government departments worked out specific plans and clarified individual responsibilities for each government staff member.
According to Guo Yanzhi, head of the county's culture and tourism bureau, the trail running race has been successfully held five times previously. The activity gave a boost to the local economy tourism, and aimed to integrate culture, sports, tourism and travel.
During the race, Xifeng received about 50,000 sightseers and reported 45 million yuan ($6.53 million) in revenue, the occupancy rate of local hotels and rural homestays exceeded 90 percent, and major scenic spots all saw more than a 30-percent increase in the number of tourists.
