Xifeng county in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, scored 98.06 points and ranked first in the municipal rural governance performance assessment for 2022, according to local news reports on March 3.
By creating new work mechanisms for rural governance, the county has set an excellent example on how to improve the living conditions and lifestyles of villagers.
Last year, cadres of the Xifeng government conducted research to figure out the county's overall situation and the needs of the rural residents. Later, the government worked out corresponding solutions to the residents' problems and needs. Four to-do lists were formed in terms of demands, projects, funds and responsibilities.
Four villages – Maodong, Li'an, Luwo and Dahong villages – have now become county-level rural governance demonstration villages. So far, these villages have received more than 30 visits from leaders of other places in Guiyang and Guian New Area. The leaders came to learn more about these successful projects and about the current situation with the local residents.
