Laowo village, located in the west of Luwo town in Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has an average altitude of 800 meters, making it suitable for the development of farming and fishing industries.

Previously, villages grew rice and corn, while many young people chose to make a living outside the village due to its lack of industry. Things have been changing since 2016, when the whole village was mobilized to grow loquats. More than 300 rural households have participated in the loquat growing, expanding the loquat growing area to over 133.33 hectares.

Taking advantage of its low-altitude location, the village has also seized the chance to develop ecological fishing. In 2019, the ecological agriculture was established in the village, investing 15 million yuan ($2.13 million) to set up a large pollution-free fish cultivation base which employs 800 locals.
