Lianhe village in Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province used to be one of the most impoverished villages in the city due to a lack of infrastructure, but the village has now become a more livable place after its electricity network, water supply and road facilities were improved.

Over the past two years, the village has also developed a fruit industry, growing grapes, peaches, and kiwi, and has adopted a so-called "firm + farmer" business model, which has proved to be a major boon for the economy.

In fact, Lianhe village is one of many villages in Xifeng that has shaken off poverty. Statistics show that by 2020, a total of 1,514 registered impoverished households involving 3,352 people escaped poverty. The county then established a dynamic monitoring system to prevent them from slipping back into poverty.

Meanwhile, Xifeng has launched a campaign to construct more rural vitalization demonstration villages, with 77 industrial and infrastructure programs implemented, involving a total investment of 62.5 million yuan ($8.63 million).
