Welfare is the basis of people's livelihoods and a guarantee for social harmony. Xifeng county in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has fulfilled its 2021 welfare goals in building 15-minute community living circles, establishing parking lots, improving farm produce markets, and renovating old residential areas, shanty towns and laneways.
The overall goal for the county from 2021 to 2023 is to finish construction on its 64 welfare projects with a total investment of 2.37 billion yuan ($372.09 million), with twelve of the projects already completed last year.
As far as the 15-minute community living circle is concerned, the county has built new business and trade complexes and versatile playground and has reconstructed many community elderly care centers.
Two parking lots have been constructed in the county, adding additional 759 spaces and making it more convenient for residents to pull over.
Xifeng has also introduced a fresh produce market that boasts an area of 3,000 square meters.
Two shanty towns, one old residential areas, and 15 laneways have been renovated to elevate the county's image.
In 2022, Xifeng plans to build three 15-minute community living circles involving 33 specific programs and 409 million yuan in investment.
