The work and production resumption rate of the 37 enterprises above designated size in Xifeng county, Guiyang, Southeast China's Guizhou province, had reached 100 percent by the end of February.
The milestone was announced on March 2 by the bureau of industry and information technology of Xifeng county, who added that the rate of work resumption has exceeded that of 2020 by 50 percent.
Continuous efforts made by the Xifeng government have ensured the healthy development of the regional economy. In order to make a head start in the first quarter of the new year, the government held sessions before the Spring Festival holiday to formulate plans for the work resumption of enterprises above designated size.
An accountability system was established to make enterprises resume their work in an orderly way. Government officials have been assigned to particular companies to take charge of the affairs related to their work resumption, including collecting employee information and handling emergencies. The bureau of industry and information technology has set up a team to provide material supply and sector coordination services.
Local companies that maintained operation during the New Year holiday will be granted governmental subsidies on their electricity bills. Employees who gave up the chance of spending the festival with families and stayed put are also eligible for bonuses. There are currently 13 enterprises applying for subsidies of up to nearly 4 million yuan ($600,000).
The government has so far resolved over 60 major problems related to work resumption in local enterprises, with the sales orders of 15 companies reaching their previous levels.
