Xifeng county in Southwest China's Guizhou province has been accelerating the construction of its communication network infrastructure, strengthening its cultivation of e-commerce talents, and vigorously developing its cold chain logistics capabilities.
The county has invested a total of 80 million yuan ($12.41 million) to build and renovate 1,983 communication base stations, achieving 100 percent 4G wireless network and data broadband coverage in administrative villages.
In Xifeng county, a total of 2,615 kilometers of optical cables have been deployed in every village, achieving 100 percent fiber optic coverage in natural villages with more than 20 households, covering more than 9,000 households in the county. The county has built 103 5G base stations, and in October 2020 it successfully applied for the first batch of national digital village pilot projects, becoming one of the four national digital village pilot projects in Guizhou province.
The county has built and put into use a county-level e-commerce logistics distribution center, reducing sorting times from 3.5 hours to 2 hours for each delivery. The county has also cooperated with four express companies, including Yunda and Shentong, to complete the upgrading and transformation of 31 village-level e-commerce logistics service stations.
Meanwhile, Xifeng county has signed an e-commerce training contract with the Taobao University training institute, with a plan to train 3,000 people. The county has introduced high-quality enterprises and started the construction of an e-commerce logistics industrial park. To date, the construction of a 5,000-square-meter industrial park storage area has been completed and the office buildings are now under construction.
In addition, the county has built nine cold storage facilities, with a storage capacity of 41,125 cubic meters and 0.65 metric tons, and purchased 14 refrigerated trucks with a total tonnage of 51.04 tons. The cold storage service scope and the transportation scope of refrigerated trucks now covers the entire county, effectively meeting the county's cold chain logistics needs.
