A pig breeding industry support project's annual income dividend ceremony has been held in Xinglong village, Xifeng county, Southwest China's Guizhou province.
A total of 72 farming households participated in the industrial poverty alleviation project dividends, and each household received a bonus of 5,000 yuan ($774), totaling 364,000 yuan.
Zhou Fei, Party secretary of Xinglong village, said that the village had explored a new model for poverty alleviation, creating Xifeng Fuzhiyuan Agricultural Development Co in order to build eight pig houses totaling 5,200 square meters, plus a management room and a feed room. Nearly 9,000 pigs have been produced this year.
Meanwhile, Xifeng Fuzhiyuan Agricultural Development Co has provided jobs for more than 10 families, with an annual income of more than 40,000 yuan per person.
