Xifeng county -- located in Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has effectively and steadily directly the return to work and operations of companies and ensured the supply of daily necessities for its residents during the novel coronavirus epidemic, according to local officials.
Officials said all 43 trading companies above a designated size -- those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.8 million) or more -- in Xifeng have now resumed business.
The county set up a work management group -- with three categories covering wholesale, retail, and catering -- which guided and implemented the on-site resumption of work.
In addition, the county stepped up its visits to enterprises and made every effort to provide them with protective supplies, including masks, thermometers, disinfectant and ethyl alcohol.
The county has also implemented strict registration and reporting systems for returning employees.
Officials said Xifeng has incorporated the functions of free disinfections of business sites, ensuring employees wear masks and measuring body temperatures in its daily supervisions.
Xifeng is also helping shopping malls and supermarkets expanding their online business, by setting up cooperation platforms with delivery companies in the county.
