Xifeng rewards frontline epidemic prevention personnel

Xifeng county in Southwest China's Guizhou province has introduced a series of measures to encourage frontline personnel in novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control, according to local officials.

Officials said there are a total of 7,657 Party members and cadres in Xifeng who stayed at the frontlines of the epidemic during the Spring Festival holiday.

The county has granted a daily subsidy of 300 yuan ($42.79) per person to frontline medical personnel and 200 yuan per person to epidemic prevention workers.

Meanwhile, staff members of government organs and public institutions will receive a daily subsidy of 120 yuan per person when time off from work can’t be arranged due to the epidemic prevention and control.

Guizhou has been assisting Ezhou city in Central China's Hubei province since the start of the coronavirus outbreak. As of now, five medical staff from Xifeng county have been sent to Guizhou medical team in Ezhou and Guiyang.

The county has established a liaison service to implement one-on-one liaison for medical workers to help medical team members solve any of their personal hardships and problems.

Meanwhile, the county will make every effort to solve any enrollment problems being encountered by frontline medical staff's children, such as prioritizing them to attend local kindergartens, junior high schools and vocational schools.

Additionally, frontline medical workers who have performed outstandingly in epidemic prevention and control will get priority in professional assessments, accident insurance and vacation arrangements.
