Xifeng County accelerates the construction of urban and rural water conservancy projects

Xifeng County has implemented safe drinking water project to let every household has access to tap water in recent years. 

At the same time, Xifeng County has implemented river chief system, river and reservoir management, water resource conservation and protection, water environment improvement, water ecological restoration, etc., and solved the problems of illegal occupation of waters, illegal sand mining, garbage heap and illegal construction. Today, the county's water qualification rate is 100 percent. 

Xifeng County has invested 695,000 yuan($98,320.77) to build a county-level real-time monitoring and management system for water resources, installed 27 sets of online monitoring facilities to monitor and manage water, and called on the masses to conserve and protect water resources; formulated the "Plan on Constructing a Qualified Water Function Zone in Xifeng County (2018-2020)", focusing on supervision on man-made soil erosion and protection of drinking water source; investigated infringement of water and soil conservation of production and construction projects, a total of 62 supervisions and inspections were carried out in 2018, and 47 notices for rectification within a limited period were issued, further enhancing the ecological awareness of the whole society. 

Xifeng County also invested more than 69.15 million yuan to upgrade the sewage treatment plant, build the Xinluo Sewage Treatment Plant with a capacity of 800 tons per day, initiate the third phase of the sewage treatment project, and promote the commissioning and operation of the sewage treatment plants at Yanglongsi, Shidong, Luwo, Liuchang and Qingshan, enhancing the sewage treatment capacity of the county. At present, with a daily domestic sewage treatment capacity of 23,500 tons, the county became the first to achieve full coverage of sewage treatment facilities in Guiyang.
